How DBV works

MLP-style team pickleball. Come for the competition, stay for the vibe.

๐Ÿ“ The match: 6 games
Every DBV match is six games: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and four Mixed Doubles. The away team's captain picks the order the games are played in โ€” before anyone sees a lineup.
๐Ÿคซ Secret lineups
Both captains submit their lineups independently. Nobody sees the other team's lineup until BOTH are in โ€” then everything is revealed at once. No counter-picking.
๐ŸŽฏ Scoring
Rally scoring to 21, win by 2, capped at 25 (at 25, win by 1). Either captain enters scores on their phone; the other captain confirms afterward.
๐Ÿ”ฅ The DreamBreaker
Tied 3โ€“3 after six games? The DreamBreaker decides it โ€” a singles shootout where players rotate in. Captains set their player order and the app records the winner.
๐Ÿ† Standings points
Win outright: 3 points, loser gets 0. Win via DreamBreaker: 2 points โ€” and the losing team still earns 1 for pushing it to the wire. Ties are broken by standings points, then game differential, then point differential.
๐Ÿ“Š Every game counts
Stats are per GAME, not per match. Win Mixed 1 and lose Men's on the same night? That's a 1โ€“1 night for you. Player and pair records, win %, and point differentials all build from every single game you play.
๐Ÿ‘ฏ Mixed pairing rule
Across the four mixed games, each player should have a different partner whenever possible. The app nudges captains if a pairing repeats.
